In general, about chaga
In Siberia, an exceptional species of mushroom grows in extreme conditions - Siberian chaga. Siberian chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is actually a parasitic fungus. On birch, beech or fir, chaga matures for three to five years and grows into a black mass up to 10 kg, which sucks out the sap of trees. Removing chaga from a tree does not cure it because a new one grows and the tree is depleted until it dies. There are 150 known medicinal mushrooms in Siberia, but chaga is considered to be the strongest and most effective. Only birch chaga, which matures at extremely low temperatures, contains betulinic acid. Research has shown that farmed chagas have the absence of certain ingredients or have them in a lower concentration than those found and confirmed in wild chaga ripened in the natural environment. One of the many benefits of chaga is that its consumption does not have harmful consequences. The black Siberian chaga from Altai is the only one in the world that has the appropriate certificate and comes from the black part of the chaga.
A high quality extract must contain sclerotium (black inner layer) of chaga. This is very important as sclerotia has a high content of specific fungi-melanin.
