Description

Each coated tablet of Persenosan contains 445 mg of dry water-elanol extract of the root of the medicinal spider (Valeriana offlcinalis L. sl, radix) (3-61); extraction solvent: 70% (V / V) ethanol.

The herbal medicine   Persenosan is suitable for relieving sleep disorders and calming mild nervous tension. Persenosan is indicated in adolescents over 12 years of age, in adults and in elderly patients.

Posology and method of administration

Dosage:

Adolescents over 12 years of age, adults and older persons:

To soothe mild nervous tension: one coated tablet up to three times a day.

To alleviate sleep disorders: one coated tablet half an hour to one hour before bedtime, if necessary with an early dose in the evening.

Maximum daily dose: 4 coated tablets

Duration of treatment with Persenosan

Because the effect occurs gradually, the root of the medicinal spider is not suitable for acute interventional treatment of mild nervous tension or sleep disorders. For the best effect of the treatment, we recommend continuous use for 2-4 weeks. If symptoms do not improve or even worsen within fourteen days, the patient should consult a physician.

Pediatric population: The safety and efficacy of coated adhesive tablets in children under 12 years of age have not been established. No data available.

How to use   Persenosan medication

For oral use: coated tablets should be taken with a sufficient amount of cold liquid (preferably with a glass of cold water). The coated tablets should be swallowed whole; due to the unpleasant smell and taste of the medicinal spider extract, they should not be broken or chewed.

Pediatric population: the use of this medicinal product in children under 12 years of age is not recommended due to a lack of relevant data.

Ingredients of a sedative

45 mg of dry extract of the root of the medicinal spider (Valeriana officinalis L. sl, radix) - the extract is prepared by aqueous ethanol extraction

- maltodextrin, colloidal anhydrous silica, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, precipitated silica, which are the so-called auxiliary components necessary for the production of Persenosan tablets.  

The tablet coating contains the following components: talc, sucrose, calcium carbonate (E170), spray-dried acacia, titanium dioxide (E171), elac, heavy kaolin, refined castor oil, macrogol 6000.

Special warnings when using Persenosan

Persenosan contains sucrose (95.6 mg per tablet), and patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrose-isomaltase deficiency should not take this medicine.

Combinations of   Persenosan with synthetic sedatives require medical diagnosis and monitoring.

Side effects:

Gastrointestinal symptoms (eg nausea, abdominal cramps) may occur after ingestion of spider root preparations. Their frequency is unknown.

The drug is dispensed without a prescription in pharmacies.

Ways and tips on how you can help yourself with insomnia

1) Temperature: even and lower than in other living spaces

Do you sometimes wake up in a sweat? Is the room too hot? Everyone has their individual preferences, but you will usually sleep much better if you keep your bedroom at a slightly lower temperature than the temperature of your living space. Avoid temperatures above 24 & deg; C or below 12 °; C. The ideal temperature range is between 16 and 20 & deg; C. A thermostat connected to your heating and air conditioning system can help you maintain a constant bedroom temperature.

2) Humidity: the golden mean needs to be found

Balancing the humidity in a room can be a difficult task, but this aspect is even more important for the health of each individual. Dry winter air can cause many problems, such as dry skin, an irritated throat and, consequently, problems with the flu and viruses.

In summer, high humidity will even promote the growth of mold and the multiplication of various microorganisms, which is not good for your respiratory system. Therefore, the humidity of your room should be around 50% throughout the year. If the humidity is too low, it can be increased with a humidifier or decreased with a dehumidifier.

3) Air quality: control the level of volatile organic compounds

Your gleaming new mattress can be very comfortable to sleep on, but it can also emit harmful VOCs (volatile organic compounds) into your sleeping environment, which you breathe. Research has found a link between indoor air pollution and sleep-disordered breathing.

A new mattress scent?You really don't want to inhale VOC during sleep, so it's a good idea to ventilate the mattress in a well-ventilated area, as this will eventually evaporate the VOC.   Especially in summer, keep the windows open, which can also be a good idea for your health, but not if you live in an area with high humidity or if the temperature drops too low at night.

4) Noise: the consistency of it is useful

In certain cases, noise can be a very disturbing factor - so a loud snoring of a partner, a party of neighbors can significantly disturb your sleep and constantly wake you up. If you live in a noisy neighborhood and can’t do much to suppress sound jammers, it can only help to make sure that such jammers are consistent and there is no fluctuation in their intensity.

Namely, there are many smart apps that provide an even background sound. Getting used to this way of sleeping with controlled noise can even help and regulate your sleepless nights. The use of earplugs is usually not an appropriate choice.

5) Light: darkness means sleep

We used to live a simpler life without artificial light. Our body uses darkness as a universal sign of sleep. We often find ourselves watching a bright TV screen or computer screen late at night, after which we cannot fall asleep despite being tired, as our the human organism is not calm.
