The eyes rely on optimal moisture levels to function properly, which means they need fluid to produce tears, clean the eye, and protect delicate tissues.

In ophthalmology, liposomes are used to alleviate extremely dry eyes, keratitis (inflammation of the cornea), uveitis (inflammation of the eyes), endophthalmitis (inflammation of the vitreous) and proliferative vitreoretinopathy.
